Text and interactive elements are checked against a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components, verified with tools like the WebAIM contrast checker rather than eyeballed. None of this is a separate accessibility phase bolted onto the end of a project it’s checked at the wireframe stage, the high-fidelity design stage, and again during usability testing, because catching a contrast failure after development is underway costs far more than catching it in Figma. Every interactive element buttons, form fields, custom dropdowns is designed with a visible focus state and a logical tab order, so someone navigating by keyboard alone can complete the same tasks as someone using a mouse. Screen-reader compatibility is planned into the design itself: meaningful alt text placeholders for images, properly labeled form fields, and a heading structure that actually reflects content hierarchy rather than being styled for size alone. Touch targets on mobile interfaces are sized to at least 44×44 pixels so they’re usable for people with limited fine motor control, not just for demo videos recorded on a large screen.
